Cass County Criminal History is an independently operated private reference site, not a government service. It neither keeps official records nor retrieves records, submits filings, or performs official background checks for users.

The website directs readers to record custodians such as the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Iowa District Court, the Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Criminal Investigation (Iowa DCI), and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect users to outside search tools that can assist with research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on the following limits. You may not:

• Use the website in violation of federal, Iowa, or local law
• Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate another person with information found here

Cass County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no consumer report, credit report, or background check. Its advertising partners do not offer services designed to assess rental applications, job applicants, creditworthiness, or insurance rates. You agree that information from the website or a linked tool will not be used to:

A check needed for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider or the official process required for that purpose. Iowa DCI maintains Iowa's central criminal-history repository, but the requesting party remains responsible for choosing a legally suitable channel.

Website content is general information, not legal advice. Explanations of Cass County records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or Iowa expungement law applies to specific facts. Iowa Code chapter 901C contains expungement provisions, but legal advice about a particular case should come from a licensed Iowa attorney.
